The One Carbon World team is proud to partner with Sasini, a sector leader in measuring and reporting science-aligned forestry, land, and agriculture (FLAG) activities and carbon removals potential. As one of Kenya’s leading agribusinesses, Sasini grows and processes coffee, tea, avocados, and macadamia nuts. Their commitment to sustainable agriculture, land stewardship, and grassroots community development has been strengthened by the recent release of work undertaken to measure and report FLAG emissions and baseline carbon stocks on their Scope 1 farms. One Carbon World is proud to have supported Sasini in achieving this significant reporting milestone.

‍

Through our partnership, Sasini has now completed Tier 3 level reporting of all its Scope 1 farms. These detailed inventories align with internationally recognised reporting standards and cover all land activities under their organisational control. Through this work, key emissions hotspots have been identified, which can be used to inform farm-specific emission reduction strategies. The quantification of Tier 3 carbon stocks, which have been calculated using in-field data, adds a mechanism for future-proofing its climate strategy and outlining areas of future carbon removal potential.

‍

‍

By quantifying carbon stocks and better understanding land uses, Sasini has the information needed to make informed decisions about scaling carbon sequestration alongside emission-reduction strategies, whether through regenerative agriculture practices, improved land management, or other nature-related interventions.

Sasini has positioned itself at the forefront of land-sector climate action, as a leader in both the FLAG sector and the wider African agribusiness industry. This work demonstrates how FLAG companies can build value chain resilience while also maintaining productive farming systems.

As technical advisors and partners, One Carbon World are proud to support Sasini in leading the way toward a resilient, net-zero future. Together, we are demonstrating that climate leadership in the FLAG sector is not only possible, but also essential.
