The One Carbon World team is proud to partner with Sasini to champion measurable and science-aligned climate action across the forestry, land, and agriculture (FLAG) sectors. As one of Kenya’s largest and most respected agribusinesses, Sasini is committed to sustainable agriculture, land stewardship, and grassroots community development. By partnering with OCW, Sasini has taken a significant step forward in its net-zero journey.
Through our partnership, Sasini has completed a series of comprehensive carbon inventories across its tea, coffee, avocado, and macadamia farms. They have also identified key emissions sources and aligned their reduction efforts with international science-based targets. By adopting a nature-based removals strategy and enforcing transparency across its value chain, Sasini is future-proofing its climate strategy and setting a new benchmark for credible climate impact in the African agribusiness sector. As part of this effort, Sasini has begun measuring its carbon removals potential, with early estimates of on-farm carbon stocks, pending confirmation from on-the-ground measurements, indicating a capacity to sequester significantly more than initially projected. This opens the door to scaling carbon sequestration alongside its existing emissions reduction strategies, reinforcing the company’s role as a leader in integrated, land-based climate action.
As technical advisors and partners, we at OCW are proud to support Sasini in leading the way toward a resilient, net-zero future. Together, we are demonstrating that climate leadership in the FLAG sector is not only possible, it is essential.
