Andrew Bowen studied business at the University of Northumbria in Newcastle. 


He has an extensive professional background, having held senior roles across diverse sectors, including education and energy. He also served as Chairman for a group of companies spanning consultancy to cybersecurity. 


Andrew is a Scottish philanthropist and the CEO of One Carbon World, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to environmental sustainability. He resides on a stunning nature reserve in Uruguay with his wife and young son, while leading a global team of professionals committed to driving climate action. Motivated by a lifelong passion for the environment, Andrew has devoted his career to scaling innovative solutions that protect our planet and promote a sustainable future

Madeleine Garlick is a strategic leader with over 20 years of experience in international diplomacy, sustainability, and global development.

Previously, she held senior roles within the UK government, including as Deputy Head for Latin America at the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office and as Ambassador and UK Deputy Permanent Representative to the African Union. Her diplomatic career also includes leading the UK Embassy in Mali, representing the UK at the United Nations on peacekeeping and financial reform, and shaping global environmental policy through the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (DEFRA). With extensive expertise in multilateral negotiations, public diplomacy, and policy development, Madeleine is widely respected for her ability to build bridges across regions and sectors.

She currently serves as Africa Director at One Carbon World, where she supports businesses and communities across the continent in advancing their journeys toward net zero. Her work centres on climate action, sustainable growth, and translating global policy into local impact. She is deeply networked across Africa, Latin America, and the Global South, and is passionate about fostering inclusive, collaborative solutions to the world’s most pressing challenges

Agustín Inthamoussu graduated from the Faculty of Agronomy at the University of the Republic in 2010. In 2011, he pursued a Master's degree at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and later earned an MBA from IEEM – the Institute of Business Studies in Montevideo.

Since 2009, he has been providing services in climate change and sustainable development. He is the founder and general manager of CLIMIT and has developed more than 20 carbon credit projects under the Clean Development Mechanism, Verra (Verified Carbon Standard), Canadian Standards Association, among others. Since 2011, he has been part of the expert panel of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and since 2016, he has advised the World Bank on national-scale climate mitigation projects through nature-based solutions. He is also a member of the Energy and Sustainable Development Observatory at the Catholic University of Uruguay and teaches climate change in the Agricultural Engineering program at UCUDAL.

Agustín is currently Head of Methodologies at One Carbon World, where he leads the development of forestry and regenerative agriculture projects across Europe, the Americas, and Africa

Flora’s background includes business education and a career spanning office management, maintenance, and customer operations.

Flora is known for her hands-on leadership style, strategic thinking, and a deep-rooted passion for environmental sustainability and protecting the natural world—values that continue to guide her work and contribution to the organisation’s mission.

Flora has played a foundational role at One Carbon World since its launch in 2019, shaping the organisation’s internal systems and supporting its global growth. She currently leads key operational and support functions, where her focus remains on driving efficiency, maintaining high standards, and ensuring exceptional service delivery while creating real, lasting impact. Fluent in four languages and deeply committed to cultural inclusion, she brings a global outlook that helps One Carbon World stay connected, responsive, and people-focused across borders

Rosemary (Rosie) Brook is the Chief Carbon Scientist at One Carbon World, specializing in climate change, nature markets, and MRV systems. With a decade of experience in carbon emissions and removals, particularly in the AFOLU sectors, she has developed and implemented climate monitoring systems across 12 countries. Previously, she was a Senior Project Manager at Forest Research UK, leading a project to develop a Woodland Water Code, and a Senior Consultant at Aether Ltd., focusing on GHG inventories and policy assessments. Rosie has also worked with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization and UNFCCC on international climate policy. She is skilled in MS Excel, R, and ArcGIS, holds a First-Class BSc in Environmental Sciences from the University of Birmingham, and is a certified expert on the UNFCCC Roster. 

Tadeo Julián Vázquez Sánchez serves as the Head of Communications at One Carbon World, bringing extensive experience in strategic communications, research, and stakeholder engagement across Latin America and Europe. Tadeo combines a global perspective with multilingual proficiency, enabling him to navigate complex international environments effectively. His expertise spans corporate, research, and customer-focused contexts, supported by a strong academic foundation and advanced digital skills.

In his role at One Carbon World, Tadeo has served as the Internal Project Manager for AgriCaptureCO₂, a three-year initiative funded by the EU Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme. He has also led the organisation’s participation in multiple UN Climate Change Conferences (COP26, COP27, COP28, COP29) and played a key role in supporting the publication of the COP27 Official Sustainability Report, issued by the Climate Change Department of the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and presented to the UNFCCC.

Beyond his work at One Carbon World, Tadeo contributes to the academic community as an Editorial Board Member of the University of Stirling Human Rights Journal and has conducted research at the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies, combining academic rigour in the field of international relations and human rights with practical communication expertise to advance global climate action.

George Syder is a Carbon Scientist at One Carbon World. He holds a Master of Research in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Southampton, with a focus on Ecosystem Services, and a Bachelor of Science in International Wildlife Biology from the University of South Wales.

He has held roles in the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre, has developed and implemented projects under both Gold Standard and the Verified Carbon Standard. He has also provided advice, support, and training for Nature-based Solutions as a consultant for Project Developers, Multinationals, and Carbon Standards.

Zach Clarke is a Carbon Scientist at One Carbon World. He holds a Masters in Global Sustainability Solutions from the University of Exeter, and Bachelors in Geology from the University of Edinburgh. His role at One Carbon World includes GHG inventory accounting, monitoring and reporting, with a specific focus on land-based carbon emissions and removals within the Forestry Land Use and Agriculture sector. His experience has also included developing and implementing carbon projects within Africa and supporting the development of scalable blue carbon removal solutions within the Caribbean.

Hsiang Kuan holds a Master's Degree in Energy Policy from the University of Sussex. Hsiang has experience across a diverse range of sustainability consulting areas. This includes carbon footprints across value chains, covering Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions across multiple sectors, in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. She has also supported organisations with the development of science‑based targets.
