Carbon Removals - One Carbon World
Even as global climate action accelerates, some emissions remain difficult to eliminate, from complex supply chains to agriculture and commuting. That’s where carbon removals become essential. Whether through afforestation, agroforestry, or carbon capture and storage, removals extract CO₂ from the atmosphere. Nature-based removals projects do even more: they restore ecosystems, build biodiversity, and support communities. At One Carbon World, we specialise in helping organisations measure and scale their carbon removals with integrity and transparency, therefore ensuring every tonne of carbon captured also delivers social and environmental benefit. Our Carbon Removals video explores how science and partnership can deliver real impact on the ground, for people, nature, and the planet.

The Power of Forests - One Carbon World
Forests are vital to life on Earth. They clean our air, protect our soils and water, and capture billions of tonnes of CO₂ every year. But rising temperatures, deforestation, and climate extremes threaten their very survival, and with them, the communities and wildlife they sustain. At One Carbon World, forests are central to our nature-based solutions. From Uganda to Uruguay to Kenya, our projects unite carbon removals, biodiversity restoration, and community empowerment, demonstrating that a sustainable future must grow from the ground up. We’re proud to share the showreel we created for presentation at the UK Pavilion for COP30 - a journey through forests and communities leading the way toward a sustainable future.

Cut, Capture, and Commit: OCW’s Net Zero Equation
As the urgency to address climate change intensifies, organisations worldwide are committing to net-zero emissions targets. Achieving these goals needs a comprehensive approach that combines substantial emissions reductions with credible carbon sequestration efforts. The Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is central to this strategy, as it provides a robust framework for setting and validating emission reduction targets aligned with climate science.

Our take on COP29
COP29 sought to move forward the global climate framework. Despite the well-known challenges of seeking to agree outcomes between nearly 200 countries, some progress was made. But this conference also highlighted the complexities of aligning commitments with practical, impactful action.

Can Nature Help You Reach Net Zero? Here's How!
As we accelerate climate change mitigation and adaptation, businesses and organisations are increasingly focused on reaching net zero. But the path to net zero is not always straightforward. Enter nature-based solutions, particularly those grounded in forestry and regenerative agriculture. These powerful practices help rebalance carbon emissions, restore ecosystems, enhance biodiversity, and deliver benefits to businesses committed to sustainability. In this article, OCW explore how nature-based solutions—specifically, regenerative agriculture—can help organisations achieve their net-zero goals, offering environmental and financial rewards.

Why growing native tree species can help save the planet
Trees can be our most powerful allies in climate change mitigation. Forests are vital to our planet’s health: they provide oxygen, sequester carbon dioxide, and support entire ecosystems. But as we ramp up afforestation and reforestation efforts significant questions arise: what is the role of native tree species in supporting these efforts? Do non-native species have their place in these projects too? And how can we best work towards accurate carbon sequestration estimations? To mark International Day of Forests, OCW delves into this debate.
